Peter Dawson, DDS is considered to be one of the most influential clinicians and teachers in the history of dentistry. He is the author of the all time best selling dental text, “Evaluation, Diagnosis and Treatment of Occlusal Problems,“ which is published in 13 languages. His newest book “Functional Occlusion from from TMJ to Dentistry” has already set record sales as one of the fastest selling medical textbooks ever released by its publisher. He is the founder of the “Concept of Complete DentistrySM Series” as well as the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental StudySM. In addition to numerous awards and special recognitions, Dr. Dawson is the past president and life member of the American Equilibration Society, a past president of the Academy of Restorative Dentistry and the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry.
Joan Forrest
President & CEO
Joan Forrest BA, MS has been with the The Dawson Academy since 1993. Prior to joining the Center, she was founder and President of Prime Performance, a training and consulting company specializing in developing self-directed work teams and facilitative leadership. Joan’s career has also included management positions with AT&T and United Technologies. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida in Interdisciplinary Studies and her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Nova Southeastern University. Joan is a past recipient of the Outstanding Female Leadership Award from the University of Florida and is a member of the University’s Hall of Fame.
John Cranham, DDS
Clinical Director
Dr. Cranham was an honors graduate of the Medical College of Virginia in 1988. He’s an internationally recognized speaker on the esthetic principles of smile design, contemporary occlusal concepts, treatment planning, restoration selection, digital photography, laboratory communication, and happiness and fulfillment in dentistry.
As The Dawson Academy’s acting Clinical Director, Dr. Cranham is involved with many of the courses and provides continuing education to dental professionals across the globe. He spends approximately two-thirds of his time in private practice and the other third as an educator. He believes this balance keeps him on the leading edge of both disciplines.
A published author, Dr. Cranham is committed to providing the highest quality patient care, as well as developing sound educational programs that exceed the needs of today’s dental professional.
