Meet the Faculty of The Airway Symposium
James Metz, DDS, FACD, ABDSM
Dr. Metz is a member of the ADA’s Scientific Investigation Committee Workgroup defining the role of Oral Appliances for Obstructive Sleep Apnea and the AARD’s Scientific Investigation Committee for Sleep Dentistry. He has served on the AADSM board of directors and various committees, including chairing both the Introductory and Advanced Courses in Dental Sleep Medicine and vice-chairing the 2014 AADSM Annual Meeting. He is a board member of the Ohio Sleep Society and founder and chair of the Dental Interest Group of the American Thoracic Society. As a member of the AARD and the International Academy of Gnathology, he excels in Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Metz is also a member of the American College of Dentists, ADA, and a former president of the Muskingum Valley Dental Association.
Lora Hooper, BSDH, RDH, EFDA
Lora is co-owner of DHEmethod. Lora received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from The Ohio State University in 1995. She continues to work in private practice as a periodontal therapist while running her business as a dental consultant. Lora is a member of the ADHA, ODHA, and CDHA. She has served as Continuing Education Chair for the CDHA and as a liaison for the ODHA to the OSDB. She is a founding member of AAOSH and a Bale/Doneen preceptor. Her passion lies in improving the quality of life for every patient by implementing oral-systemic care into practice through the DHEmethod.
DeWitt C. Wilkerson, DMD
Dr. DeWitt Wilkerson, D.M.D., is the Resident Expert of Integrative Dental Medicine and a senior faculty member at The Dawson Academy, where he leads many courses. He co-owns DuPont & Wilkerson Dentistry in St. Petersburg, Florida, and recently published his first book, “THE SHIFT – The Dramatic Movement Toward Health Centered Dentistry.”
Dr. Wilkerson has been on The Dawson Academy’s faculty for over 25 years and is a leader in researching and educating on dentistry’s role in diagnosing and managing disordered breathing. Dr. Wilkerson is also involved with the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry, American Dental Association, and the Christian Medical/Dental Association.
Gina Pritchard DNP, RN, CNS, ACNP-BC
Gina Pritchard, DNP, is an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner specializing in Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Treatment.
