Guided Implant Success – FL

Implant placement is often done to where the bone is present. Given though that one of most common ways implants fail is due to an improper occlusion, prosthetically driven placement has now become the gold standard. One of the main goals of this course will be to understand how to prosthetically place implants within the Dawson philosophy. We will be looking at an understanding of how to place implants using biologic principles for success, including key numbers for soft and hard tissue health and ridge augmentation techniques. We will work through the prosthetic planning using our Dawson treatment planning protocols from exam to 2-D and 3-D workups and how to merge this data with CBCT scans for creation of the final guided implant stents. A key focus for the course will be a thorough knowledge of how to create your own guided stents that you can have printed with a 3D printer or sent to a lab. We will cover various case types such as tooth supported, tissue supported as well as bone supported surgical guides. All of the above will be taught using case review from single implant to more complex multi-implant design cases.
