The etiology of temporomandibular disorder (TMD) is multifactorial. It’s crucial for the restorative dentist to recognize ‘why’ the patient is suffering from TMD during the treatment planning phase.

About Dr. Kim

Dr Alex Kim The Dawson Academy Faculty

Dr. Alex Kim is an Associate Faculty Member of The Dawson Academy and provides comprehensive dental care to his patients in La Jolla, California. He graduated from dental school at the University of Louisville and completed a 2-year residency at the University of Florida St. Petersburg. Dr. Kim pursues numerous postdoctoral courses in clinical dentistry and actively participates in various professional organizations. He has advanced training in treating multidisciplinary complex dental cases, dental implants, cosmetics, oral surgery, jaw joint disorders and occlusion, and restorative and preventive dentistry. Dr. Kim has received various awards and is involved in leading organizations, including the AGD, the AACD, and the International Congress of Oral Implantoligists.
