Scott Finlay, D.D.S., FAGD, FAACD is the Resident Expert of Esthetics and Senior Faculty member at the Dawson Academy, joining the faculty in 2007.  He authored “AACD Guide to Accreditation Criteria: Contemporary Concepts in Smile Design,” which serves as the primary reference for credentialing for accreditation within the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.  He is also a full-time practicing dentist in Annapolis, Maryland and Los Angeles, California.

Dr. Finlay is one of the world’s most recognized dentists in the area of esthetic dentistry.  He is known for his charisma, knowledge and stage eloquence.  He is a high-demand speaker who has been a featured at several notable conferences, including the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry, the Toronto Crown & Bridge SC, World Esthetic Congress and the Greater New York Meeting. He has taught advanced esthetic courses in Japan, China, Spain, Poland, India, Canada and the United Kingdom.

Dr. Finlay is one of only 90 dentists in the world to be named a fellow by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), and he’s been honored with AACD’s Evy Award in 2015 and 2018.  Dr. Finlay has also been presented with four gold medals in the AACD annual Smile Gallery.
