Dawson Quick Tips Topic Ideas

During Study Club Day, Corey and I would like to film each of you giving a few “Dawson Quick Tips” to use on our blog through the year. These quick tips would be short (30 seconds – 2 minutes) tips on something related to dentistry.

Below are some topics ideas:

  • 2D Checklist
  • 3D Checklist
  • Adapted Centric Posture
  • Anterior guidance
  • Articulators
  • Bite Record
  • Case Acceptance
  • CBCT/MRI Scans
  • Centric Relation
  • Classification of TMJ Disorders
  • Dawson Diagnostic Wizard
  • Dawson’s Classification of Occlusion
  • Doppler Auscultation
  • Esthetic Smile Analysis
  • Facebow Registrations
  • General Patient Vs. Specialty Patient
  • Lab Communication
  • Load testing
  • Lucia Jig
  • Mounting models
  • Muscle palpation
  • New Patient Interview
  • Occlusal Stability
  • Phasing Treatment
  • Photography
  • Plane of occlusion/Occlusal plane analysis
  • Range of Motion
  • Scheduling the Complete Exam
  • Splint Therapy
  • T-Scan
  • Treatment Planning
  • Treatment Presentation
  • Using a Centrichek
  • Using a Leaf Gauge
  • Using a Simplified occlusal plane analyzer (SOPA)
  • Using Joint Vibration Analysis (JVA)
  • Using Range of Motion Scale
  • Vertical dimension
  • WIDIOM Rule

So for example, if you wanted to give a quick tip on splints, you could talk about when to use a B-Splint and when you should not use a B-Splint.

You don’t need to prepare a keynote presentation or anything. Just be prepared with 3 tips. If you have an image you’d like to use with your quick tip, we can use that, but no image is required.  I’ll have an example of one for you in the coming weeks so you can see exactly what to expect/prepare.

Please let me know if you have any questions in the meantime!
