How can you design anterior teeth for aesthetics and function? Most dentists are focused on the facial side of anterior restoration while the functional side does not get the same attention. It is paramount that every dentist understand that the lingual contours of anterior teeth are just as important as the facial ones. Understanding the principles of occlusion will allow the dentist to predictably design anterior teeth and provide excellence in aesthetics and function.

Attendees will learn:

  • The elements of aesthetic and functional design
  • How to predictably design anterior restorations
  • Understand the principles of occlusion

Length: Half day, full day or two days
One of the important procedures in dental private practice is the New Patient Examination (NPE). In many cases, the NPE is overlooked and usually not enough time is dedicated in completing this procedure. A comprehensive examination is necessary for any dentist to understand the patient’s masticatory system. The data gathered during this initial examination allows a trained dentist to evaluate their respective patient from four aspects: TMJ, muscles, occlusion, and bacterial health.
Far too many untrained dentists do not make the time to perform a comprehensive dental examination, but it’s the key to predictable diagnosis and treatment planning.

Attendees will learn:

  • How to perform a complete comprehensive examination
  • The four points of complete dentistry
  • The importance of centric relation and how to use it in treatment planning

Length: Half day, full day or two days
The topic of occlusion has for many decades been controversial for many reasons. This is created some confusion among dentists and in turn made most dentist avoid a complete understanding of what occlusion means in their respective practices. The fundamentals of occlusion requires understanding how the masticatory system works, including TMJ, muscles of mastication, and how the teeth relate to each other.

Understanding how the masticatory system works allows dentist to understand how their patients are functioning. This creates a mindset of predictable dentistry where occlusal problems are solved with confidence.

Attendees will learn:

  • The relationship of the masticatory system, including TMJ, muscles and teeth.
  • The underlying causes of occlusal disease
  • How to evaluate occlusion using an articulator

Length: Half day, full day or two days
Digital photography is an essential part of dental practice. The most common uses
include “before/after” photos and lab communication. However, another use for digital
photography is analysis and treatment planning. For example, taking a series of photos
correctly can provide the dentists with and understanding of where the incisal edge
needs to be, both vertically and horizontally.

Using photography consistently will expand the understanding of how to restore teeth
predictably with natural results that can last. Attendees will learn:
• The basics and a full understanding of dental photography
• What photos to take and what to look for
• How to use photos in treatment planning

Length: Half day, full day or two days
The art of communication is often very difficult for dentists as they deal with so many issues that relate to patients and staff. Ineffective communication can lead to poor staff retention, treatment planning rejection, and a financial cost. Effective communication involves seeking clarity by being curious and asking the right questions while showing compassion.

Attendees will learn how to:

  • Be more curious, have more clarity, and show more compassion
  • Create the mindset and overcome patient objections
  • Enhance leadership skills
  • Successfully present treatment plans to patients
