Many dental offices have emergency visit patients that ask for an immediate concern or problem to be addressed. Sometimes, as we take a cursory look around their mouths, we may find that there are many other areas of concern, but often feel compelled to definitively solve the problem that they came in for, start to finish, as quickly as possible, and leave the other areas for a discussion at some point in the future. We can get “tunnel vision” dealing with the problem at hand.

Unfortunately, this can put us in quite a bind. The new dentistry that we deliver can be put at risk due to the other problems that may exist. We may use up all of their dental benefits for the year to treat the “emergency” start to finish, and they may be reluctant to address the other areas until the following year, potentially putting much at risk.

RCT, P/C, Crown; Ext, Bone Graft, Implant; Drill, fill, bill… It can be an unrewarding, never ending treadmill of frustration for all involved.

What if there was A Better Way?
