This presentation demonstrates a diagnostic tree to help the clinician recognize various wear patterns and ultimately determine the specific causes of wear. After identifying the cause(s), tips on various treatment modalities will be presented.  In addition, Dr. Cranham will discuss the materials that will work best in various clinical situations.

• Enable the clinician to recognize specific wear patterns and how they should be treated differently.
• Why wear problems can be a medical and not a dental problem that needs to be addressed as part of the treatment plan.
• Why wear creates both a tooth position as well as a tooth morphology problem.
