Learn digital protocols for dentistry that increase predictability

Registration open for The Dawson Academy’s two-day course on digital dentistry

PETERSBURG, Fla. (Fe­­b. 12, 2019) – The Dawson Academy is introducing a new course offering “Digital Solutions for Complete Dentistry.” Dental professionals will learn how to implement a completely digital workflow in this hands-on “workshop.”

Digital protocols allow dental professionals to improve predictability, efficiency and productivity. A fully digital workflow allows the dental team and patient to preview the new smile, make revisions through provisional restorations, and then predictably create the exact smile and function in the final result. This course covers all aspects of digital protocols from the records gathering process to producing the final result.

“Digital tools and protocols have a definite place in dentistry today, and even more so in the future,” said Dr. John Cranham, clinical director of The Dawson Academy. “Digital tools like the CBCT, intraoral scanners, and digital printers help streamline the treatment planning protocols taught at The Dawson Academy and make the end result even more accurate and predictable.”

The Dawson Academy’s faculty members Lee Culp, CDT and Ian Buckle, BDS will teach the course “Digital Solutions for Complete Dentistry.”

Culp recently joined The Dawson Academy’s faculty as the resident expert in digital protocols. He has been a lab technician for over 40 years, and is the CEO of Sculpture Studios, a dental laboratory, research and product development center in Cary, North Carolina that focuses on new and innovative digital dental technologies.

Dr. Buckle is a senior faculty member at The Dawson Academy and the director of The Dawson Academy U.K. He also owns Buckle Advanced Dental Care in Wirral, England and is a noted lecturer on such topics as minimally invasive dentistry, digital dentistry and interdisciplinary dentistry.

During this course, attendees will learn:

• Advantages of a digital workflow for complete dentistry.
• Records requirements for 2D and 3D digital treatment planning and how to collect that data.
• Key communication skills to make the complete dentistry process more efficient and predictable.
• Tips for integrating desktop/IOS scanning and CAD software options into the dental office.
• Digital restorative options, milling and 3D printing.

The workflows and protocols demonstrated during this course use the 3Shape technology. Comparable products will be discussed, but not demonstrated or utilized during hands-on exercises.

The initial courses will be held on June 21-22, 2019 and on Oct. 11-12, 2019 at Sculpture Studios Lab in Cary, North Carolina.
