New Study Club Format

Starting in 2016, Study Clubs will have a new format that allows for more flexibility. The overview of these changes are:

Club Meetings:

Clubs have the option of meeting:

  • 4 times a year for a full day (6 hours)
  • 6 times a year for a half day (4 hours)
  • 12 times a year for an evening, afternoon or morning (2 hours)

No matter which option is chosen, each club covers 24 hours of CE throughout the year.

Club Meeting Content:

Clubs will now have options for what topics they want to cover throughout the year. Just as in previous years, club meeting content will be primarily video based, but will also now include discussion questions/points for the leaders to use. Leaders simply pick from the library of topics available for the year to create their schedule. Over the years, this library will grow allowing for great variety of meeting topics.

Also like previous years, The Academy will provide new cases each year for the club. We will be providing 2 new cases each year that all study clubs will use in that calendar year. Outside of the 2 cases, topic examples include:

  • Total Wellness
  • Practice Marketing
  • Implants
  • Lab Communication
  • Perio

This new content will be ready in January for all new clubs.

Study Club Tuition & Benefits:

Study Club tuition has remained the same: $2,500 ($200 discount for alumni association members). The benefits of the Study Club have changed slightly. The following are included (and free) for Study Club Members:

  • Study Club Meetings
  • Study Club Day (day prior to Alumni Retreat)
  • Year-Long Alumni Association Membership
  • Year-Long Wizard Subscription
  • Year-Long Access to all online videos & courses
  • Year-Long Access to Study Club Videos

Requirements to Start a Study Club:

The only requirement is that the leader has completed the Core Curriculum. This means that Lab Technicians could start a club too, as long as they have completed the curriculum.
