One-day splint therapy course in New York in March 2019

 ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (Dec. 26, 2018) – Many people have undiagnosed temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD) and under-treated occluso-muscle pain. Patients treated with an oral appliance often have an incorrect or poorly fabricated appliance, which can sometimes worsen or advance an already-present problem.

Dentists can learn to provide proper splint therapy that’s predictable and profitable at a new one-day course with The Dawson Academy. Internationally known dentist Dr. Leonard Hess is teaching “Demystifying Splint Therapy: Going Beyond the Nightguard” to help dental professionals understand the anatomy and diagnostic process of splint therapy, which is often mistakenly thought to be complicated or confusing.

During the one-day course, dental professionals will:

• Identify the different types of splints and what they treat.
• Learn how to diagnose patients properly in order to prescribe the correct appliance.
• Develop successful treatment plans and avoid complications.

After this course, dentists will have confidence in knowing which splints to apply on patients who are exhibiting signs and symptoms of TMJ disorders.
