Plan Your Work and Work Your Plan – Completing Esthetic Cases with Confidence with Dr. Angie Hedlund

Plan Your Work and Work Your Plan – Completing Esthetic Cases with Confidence

Guest: Dr. Angie Hedlund
Release Date: February 23, 2021

If you’ve been around the Dawson Academy for long, you’ve heard us say that “we do the case four times.“ In this webinar, we will review a case from start to finish using those four methods, and in addition, we will spend some time camping out on a 5th method that we can use to plan the case to make our results even more predictable: the Intraoral mockup. We will explore this technique reviewing several different cases and the benefits, including better case acceptance, more conservative tooth preparation, and recognizing errors that can be avoided before preparation/temporization day.

What you’ll learn:

  • How inputting the correct photos into the Smile Wizard software can help a patient visualize their esthetic challenges, and proceed with treatment records
  • How we can use information from our 2-D checklist to transmit information to the lab for our 3-D wax-up
  • The technique used to perform an intraoral mockup
  • The benefits and limitations of an intraoral mockup
  • How an intraoral mockup can help a patient more accurately determine the number of teeth they wish to restore
  • How an intraoral mockup can enable us to perform a dry run on the provisional checklist, which can reduce errors in tooth preparation and provisionals

The fun continues – Watch Greg Sitek, Dr. Shannon Johnson, and Dr. Angie Hedlund continue their discussion, answer additional questions, and catch up on life in the after-hours session.
