The Dawson Study Club Membership is an annual obligation for the 1st year. If you cancel your membership prior to your 1st year being completed, you will be billed for the remaining balance due of your annual membership. See our full cancellation policy here.
We encourage all general dentists, specialists, dental lab technicians and dental consultants to join. No prior Dawson class history is required, making Dawson Study Clubs open to all.
In general, a membership is 365 days of benefits, punctuated by meetings. The number of times and how long a Study Club meets varies per club but is based on 24 total credit hours annually.
We offer three tiers of study clubs. Study clubs combine discussions, and sometimes a hands-on case study, member challenges, or even a speaker, but the foundation is the instructional video module on specific topics. We believe this offers a leader and their members a great deal of flexibility within the basic structure.
The three tiers of clubs, are defined by experience and history with The Dawson Academy’s courses.
Some common options for frequency and length of general study club meetings are:
Virtual Study Clubs never meet in person and consist of 24 annual CE credits earned through several shorter video meetings, discussions through the online portal and independent viewing of online modules and webinars.
Hybrid Study Clubs are a combination of both general and virtual study club elements, and consist of 24 annual CE credits earned through in-person meetings, independent watching of online modules, and virtual discussion boards. The meetings may be in-person or the club may alternate virtual and in-person meetings.
Study Club Leaders may opt to extend the hours of each meeting or to continue discussions virtually between meetings, to provide time for speakers or for members to bring and discuss cases. For all clubs, the Online Learning Portal is central to communication, learning and receipt of CE certificates.
Your club is your support community in and between meetings. Interaction is encouraged!
Yes. A study club year provides up to 24 hours of CE, with additional CE opportunities available.
Meetings may be in-person, virtual, or a combination of the two within the same club. In general, study club content includes structured training through modules with open discussion. Each meeting may include one or more of the following: lecture, case presentation, discussion and hands-on exercises. Some study clubs may opt to have guest speakers at meetings or participate in virtual speaker opportunities. Members are encouraged to share their own cases.
Meeting topics will vary per club. Study Club Leaders pick from a library of club meeting content. The following are a few examples of study club meeting topics found in the Study Club Library:
The yearly Study Club fee is $2,500 for dentists and specialists and $1,250 for lab technicians.
You can split the fee into 4 payments. Our only requirement is that it is paid in full prior to the final meeting. To join, call The Dawson Academy at 1-800-952-2178 or fill out the form here.
