There’s many benefits to sequencing treatment plans that we come up with. Sequencing allows us to consider the logical sequence, predictable sequence AND economical sequence for the patient.

The Logical Sequence
As you work through the treatment planning process, you’re going to come up with a number of items that need to be completed. Some of them may require specialty work – whether it’s implants, periodontal treatment, or orthodontics. There’s a logical sequence that we teach in the Core Curriculum on how to accomplish this: which one comes first, followed by a new set of records, progressing through a treatment plan. So first, it’s logical.
The Predictable Sequence
We don’t want you to get out of order, so which arch to prep first or what area to complete first. For example, we always want you to diagnose the joints first. If you have stable, healthy joints, then you can move ahead. If you don’t, then you have to solve that first. That’s what we mean by predictable. So we’re going to teach you that exact sequence.
The Economic Sequence
So for some people, it’s a way to get an optimum result over a period of a few years or even several years. As we stage the treatment by sequencing, we can still end up with an optimal end result, even if it takes several years and over a period of time a patient can afford our treatment.
Accuracy is Everything
At the end of the day, it all starts with a complete exam and accurate records. With that information you can start your treatment plan, and you have something solid to work from, even if it’s over an extended period of time. At the end, then, you know that the accuracy and details lead to a stable end result.
