Leonard A. Hess, DDS is the Clinical Director at The Dawson Academy and joined the faculty in 2009. He owns Union County Center for Comprehensive Dentistry in Charlotte, North Carolina, and practices full time in addition to teaching continuing education courses. He is a member of the editorial board for Inside Dentistry and has had over 17 articles published in peer-reviewed journals. He is also a member of the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry, AACD, ADA, AES, and NCDS. Dr. Hess began teaching continuing education courses in 2005 on topics including occlusion, smile design, treatment planning, preparation design, and practice integration of Complete Care Dentistry. He’s taught full-day continuing education courses at the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry’s national meeting, The Greater New York Dental Meeting, AACD National Meeting, Pacific Dental Conference, Ontario Dental Association meeting, and The Yankee Dental Conference. Dr. Hess has taught courses in Japan, Germany, Poland, China, and Canada.
DeWitt Wilkerson, DMD is the Resident Expert of Integrative Dental Medicine at The Dawson Academy and has been a Faculty Member for over 25 years. Dr. Wilkerson joined Dr. Peter Dawson’s private practice in 1982 and co-owns DuPont & Wilkerson Dentistry in St. Petersburg, Florida with fellow Senior Faculty Member Dr. Glenn DuPont. He recently published his first book, The Shift: The Dramatic Movement Toward Health Centered Dentistry. Dr. Wilkerson is a recognized leader in researching and educating on dentistry’s role in the diagnosis and medical management of what now is described as “disordered breathing.” Dr. Wilkerson launched The Dawson Academy’s annual Airway Symposium in 2017, and he’s lectured on integrative dental medicine, whole health dental treatments, and airway/dental sleep medicine all over the world. Additionally, Dr. Wilkerson has presented on restorative dentistry, occlusion, and TMJ disorders. Dr. Wilkerson is the current President of the American Academy for Oral and Systemic Health, which works to improve interdisciplinary healthcare and collaboration and increases awareness of the mouth-body health links. He is a past President of the American Equilibration Society. He’s actively involved with the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Christian Medical/Dental Association.
Neeraj Khanna, DDS is a Senior Faculty Member and Study Club Leader at The Dawson Academy. Dr. Khanna also owns his own practice, Khanna Dentistry, in Geneva, Illinois, which provides comprehensive dental services, including cosmetic and restorative dentistry, tailored to a patient’s unique dental health needs and personal goals. Dr. Khanna is a noted international speaker who’s lectured for such associations as the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and European Society Cosmetic Dentistry, and at meetings like the Chicago Dental Society-Midwinter Meeting and the Dubai World Dental Meeting. He’s involved with a number of dental professional associations, including the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and the American Equilibration Society.
Shannon Johnson, DMD is an Associate Faculty Member at The Dawson Academy. Dr. Johnson also leads two Dawson Study Clubs and teaches the Core Curriculum. She owns and operates her practice in Louisville, KY.
Dr. Dania Tamimi graduated with a dental degree from King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She trained at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and earned a doctorate of medical science (DMSc) and certificate of fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology in 2005. She is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (ABOMR). She is a reviewer and an Editorial Board member for Oral Surgery, Oral Pathology, Oral Medicine, and Oral Radiology (OOOO), as well as a reviewer for DMFR, Oral Radiology, Head and Neck, Angle Orthodontist, and AJO-DO. She is the lead author on two textbooks, Specialty Imaging: Dental Implants (which has been translated to Portuguese and Russian) and Specialty Imaging: Temporomandibular Joint (translated to Spanish) and is a co-author of Diagnostic Imaging, Oral and Maxillofacial (translated to Spanish). She lectures nationally and internationally. Dr. Tamimi currently runs her oral and maxillofacial radiology private practice in Orlando, Florida.
Kimberley Daxon, DDS is the Resident Expert of Removable Prosthetics and has been a Senior Faculty member at The Dawson Academy for over 18 years. Dr. Daxon is also an owner and prosthodontist at Daxon Dentistry in St. Petersburg, Florida. She specializes in complex occlusal disorders, Complete dentures, team training, and implants.
Augusto Robles, DDS, MS is a visiting instructor and Scholar of The Dawson Academy. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Restorative Sciences and Director of Operative Dentistry at the University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Dentistry. He completed his certificate and MS in Restorative Dentistry from the University of Michigan in 2006 and 2007 respectively. He was in Private Practice in Lima, Peru from 1992-2003. He was honored with the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society award in 2012. He is a member of the American Dental Education Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, Alabama Dental Association, and Birmingham District Dental Society. In addition, he is also a member of the American Academy of Dental Research and the University liaison for the University Relations Committee of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Combining lifelong passions for art and science, Andrew L. Reingold, DMD is considered a leader in both general and cosmetic dentistry and is an Associate Faculty Member at The Dawson Academy. As a Founder and President of The Dental Continuum, Dr. Reingold has fostered the education of cutting edge techniques for other dentists, including his published and lectured techniques for rapid tooth whitening. In 1998, Dr. Reingold was awarded the Biotene Award for Excellence in Hospital Dentistry. Dr. Reingold graduated from The University of Pennsylvania’s School of Dental Medicine and The Mount Sinai School of Medicine’s General Practice Residency in Dentistry. He is an active member of The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and has been appointed a Clinical Assistant Professor at NYU’s College of Dentistry, teaching both general dentistry and esthetics. Dr. Reingold’s expertise consists of smile whitening, crowns and bridges, bonding, and porcelain veneers. Dr. Reingold practices high-tech dentistry and dental medicine with old-fashioned doctor compassion.
Joe Gaudio, DDS is an Associate Faculty Member at The Dawson Academy and graduated from Columbia University School of Dentistry and Oral Surgery in 1984. Dr. Gaudio has owned and operated his practice in Chester, New Jersey for over 35 years. His education includes a one-year area of concentration in prosthetic dentistry, a one-year general practice residency program at Englewood Hospital Association, and various others centered around Sleep, Airway, and TMD, and Orthodontics. Dr. Gaudio has been teaching as an Assistant Clinical Professor in Prosthodontics at Columbia University for 16 years. He has been with the AEGD Program and has been an Attending Dentist at Morristown Memorial Hospital collectively for the past six years. Dr. Gaudio is a current member of the American Dental Association, the New Jersey Dental Association, and the Tri-County Dental Association. He recently completed a two-year ortho program with the International Association of Orthodontists, among others. He has completed over 1500 hours of continuing education, including the Aesthetic Advantage Program at NYU and the TMJ/TMD program directed by Dr. Peter E. Dawson. Dr. Gaudio previously served as the President of the Chester Lion’s Club and has been a member for over 25 years supporting local organizations such as the fire department, ambulance squad, and other charitable groups.
Dr. Brian Sang is an Associate Faculty Member, Ambassador, and Study Club Leader at The Dawson Academy. He owns and operates his private practice in Florence, SC. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of Laser Dentistry, the Academy of Osseointegration, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Angela Gribble Hedlund is an Associate Faculty Member at The Dawson Academy. She has practiced dentistry in Atlanta, GA since 1994 and lectures on esthetic dentistry. She received her Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry; this is an honor held by fewer than 2% of dentists across the nation.
