This course explores the need for the complete exam as the diagnostic foundation of comprehensive dental care. Building on the importance of identifying disease, pathology, and patient risk early, participants will review how health history, review of systems, physical evaluation, extraoral and intraoral examination, periodontal evaluation, and occlusal assessment work together to reveal significant findings that may otherwise be overlooked. Emphasis will be placed on moving beyond a symptom-driven approach so clinicians can establish a more accurate diagnosis, improve communication with patients, and develop more coordinated, predictable treatment plans. Attendees will leave with a practical framework for using the complete exam to support better decision-making from the initial visit forward.
