Mastering Class IV Stratification Techniques
Mastering direct restorations in the esthetic zone requires an intimate understanding of micro esthetics and the concepts of stratification. Replacing segments of tooth structure that harmonize and dissolve invisibly into the surrounding dentition is an invaluable tool for the clinician. In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to apply the stratification technique using a state of the art, naturally shaded composite system, IPS Empress Direct, while focusing on Class IV restorations.
Educational Objectives:
1. Understand the concepts of stratification and the effects of light refraction related to tooth form, surface finish and translucency
2. Create a predictable formula for a polychromatic direct restoration
3. Understand preparation design for direct restorations
