Esthetic Risks and Identifying Complex Cases
We all know when we approach cases, there are some cases that are a little more straightforward than others. When we think about esthetics, we have to appreciate those cases that may be more challenging or difficult than others.
Identify which cases are complex
Which cases have that excessive, unforgiving reveal, or someone that has super high lip mobility? What about someone who has some significant discolorations that we are trying to manage in a limited part of the esthetic zone, yet we want that to be able to harmonize or blend with the rest of the smile?
Set the expectations with the patient
What about the personality that’s attached to that patient? What’s their expectations or demands? The solutions to those are first to identify what those concerns are and develop skill sets within each of those items and be able to create appropriate expectations for our patients. Most importantly, I think it’s really about taking the time, the consideration, and the effort in providing those kinds of procedures.
