How General Dentists Can Find a Great Orthodontist

When we start our search for an orthodontist, it’s important that, actually, it’s the right orthodontist. A lot of people will be very willing to work with you, but the biggest challenge is having someone that wants to work on our team and is looking for the same goals as we are.

What I did when I was looking for an orthodontist was we did advertise. And then when we advertised, they actually sent them an article by my colleague and friend Domingo Martin from the FACE group, which is about goal-centered orthodontics, which shares the same goals that we do in The Dawson Academy.

Firstly, we got quite a lot of applications. But once we sent that out, there was fewer, but the people that did apply were very, very sincere and very keen to follow the same goals that we did, and that really was the key.

Once we could do that, we shared the same goals, and that really made treatment for our patients a big success.

So my clue to finding an orthodontist is to be honest and upfront from the beginning. Let them know what it is that you’re looking for. Don’t be shy of doing that. And then deal with the people who really want to be on your team.
