I think of it kind of like the modern-day golden rule. It’s how I live my life. It’s how I treat my patients. It’s how I treat my family. I think about every single thing that I do with the idea of, is this what I would want somebody else to be doing or suggesting to me?

So when it comes to your patients, think of them as your family. Think of them in that golden rule idea of WIDIOM. And think about, if you were the patient, would you want to have certain things suggested to you? Would you want to know about the implications of the breakdown that was going on in your mouth? And let that drive you and your patient to achieve the care that they so well need.
