Original Air Date: 08/20/2021
The first tooth-colored restorations were developed and placed in the mid ’50s, and by the late ’60s, composite resins were introduced. Over 60 years later, the first cause of restorative failure is the same–secondary caries.
During this dental CE live stream course, we will review what we know about caries, adhesive dentistry, and composite materials to achieve predictable, long-lasting restorations that can be maintained for years to come. By the end of this course, you will have a clear understanding of the caries process, its diagnosis, detection, management, and excavation endpoints. This will be related to current materials and techniques for adhesive dentistry and composite materials. In the end, tips and tricks will also be shared for facilitating implementation in your practice.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the current caries processes and management techniques
- Clarify caries excavation methods and endpoints
- Identify multiple adhesives and substrates for successful bonding
- Summarize key tops and tricks for long-lasting composite success in the general practice
